Ceulan Welsh section A ponies from the “C” family fared well at the Wales and Border Counties Association Foal and Youngstock Show at Pencoed College on Sunday 7th November 2010.

Ceulan Stud’s own chestnut filly Ceulan Casey (right) was section A foal champion and supreme foal, Ryan Wilson’s chestnut yearling filly Ceulan Caryn was reserve riding pony champion and Milwas Stud’s palomino two-year-old colt Ceulan Calon Lan was youngstock champion and reserve youngstock supreme. All three are sired by Ceulan Stud’s Wernderris Caramel, Casey is out of Ceulan Ceryl, Caryn is out of Ceulan Cusan and Calon Lan is out of Ceulan Cariad; Ceryl and Cusan are full-sisters and Cariad is their dam! Milwas Stud’s winning bay yearling filly Ceulan Lilly by Sunwillow Irving was reserve youngstock champion to her stable-mate Calon Lan.

At her last visit to Pencoed College for the Glamorgan WPCA Show, Justin Walters’ chestnut section C filly foal Ty’rllawn En-Vogue was champion but this time she was beaten into reserve position by the flamboyant chestnut colt Caebryn Voyager (left) produced by Michael Cobley for Veronica Layton and he is a son of the former Royal Welsh youngstock champion Parvadean Denise.
Justin Walters won his second reserve championship, this time for section D foal with the colt Costa Apollo (by Trevallion Georgie Boy) which he is producing for Mr Bennett of Gravesend, Kent. Local exhibitors Jane Bugler and Jo Claes were section D champion with their black filly Iouar Cadi, closely related to one of the top filly foals (Iouar Gwen at £2,100) on the recent Brightwells Cob Sales.

Supreme youngstock champion was the bay section B yearling colt Bryngwennol Royal Tribune (left) owned by Julie Russell from St Dogmaels, Cardigan; a very impressive mover, he is sired by Moelview Chester out of Cloigen Fair Trumpet by the 1987 Royal Welsh champion Millcroft Copper Lustre. Royal Tribune has been a consistent winner throughout the summer and was highly placed in his class at the Royal Welsh Show in a class of 27 entries.
